Opened in August 2005 Escape Gallery is a purpose built commercial fine art gallery designed to display artwork at its best. Spacious display areas featuring polished hardwood timber floors and quietly relaxing background music create an ambience conducive to enjoyment of the art on offer.

The Tweed Valley and surrounding areas boast a high concentration of talent in all forms of art and Escape Gallery draws on this rich variety of skills to present the very best local work as well as a proportion of work from other areas. Original art, glassware, ceramics, giftware, sculpture, jewellery, woodwork and metalwork are all featured.

Escape Gallery is really five galleries in one. As well as the foyer and reading areas there are three display areas for mixed works, an exposure area for artists wishing to conduct a future exhibition, and the large main exhibition hall.

The gallery runs a continuous exhibition program with artist involvement and encourages public interaction and participation with the artists. Disabled persons are catered for with the provision of toilet facilities and an electric stairwalker.

For public convenience Escape Gallery is located right in the centre of town near the Post Office and is open from 10am to 4pm every day except public holidays. Come in and enjoy the artwork – it becomes addictive.
