Dailan Pugh was raised in an artistic household in the bush which created the strong nexus between art, natural environments and conservation, that directed him down life’s path. He moved to north-east NSW in the late 1970’s specifically to live near the rainforest with which he had become obsessed while doing pen and ink drawings in north Queensland. His drawing led him to research its species and function, then that knowledge led him into active rainforest conservation. He thus used a combination of his artwork, research and activism to promote and protect rainforests, while using the rainforests to develop his pen and ink drawings to their zenith.

"Through the Looking Glass" is a fascinating exhibition by rapidly emerging artist Dailan Pugh.He is passionate about ecology and the environment and his art expresses his feelings. This particular exhibition is mainly reflective of the marine environment and concentrates on endangered as well as common species in our coastal waters.
Many of these special works are in oil and feature striking detail. This exhibition is very worth a trip to see.
