CURRENT EXHIBITION- to NOVEMBER 24VISIONS and BEYOND Del is a naturally gifted artist who has painted passionately her entire life. She chose to specialize in traditional art for many years and in this time acquired an expertise in all mediums. Del is a self-taught artist who managed to combine her painting with rearing a family and working on properties. She was born in Mackay and returned there after a few married years in Brisbane. The Brisbane art scene was a gift to explore and grow with. Del found she had the ability to inspire others and so began her teaching time. During the next few years she taught privately and did numerous seminars throughout the central Qld areas. Another interesting facet of her art interests was painting large sets for Theatre performances and also producing art teaching videos. Del excels in painting the Australian bush and landscapes with an inspired vision and a special love for the rainforest. In more recent years a mystical and more abstract vision increasingly influences her paintings. She has won numerous awards, exhibited overseas and has sold many works, attracting private and corporate commissions. A lifestyle change by choice - Del now lives in the Tweed area at Bilambil and continues to paint at her leisure. |
